Be prepared for wedding emergencies

Having a little bag that you can carry (or have someone in the bridal party carry) with you throughout the wedding day can keep you from worrying about things that may happen, and dealing with them when they do.

Medicine

Although everyone is feeling wonderful on the wedding day, it’s amazing what a few nerves can do to the body. Headaches, upset stomachs, and dizziness can all rear their ugly heads right when you are feeling the most pressure.

And that’s not just the couple.

You may want to keep on hand a few things to keep everyone feeling good, or at least keep them upright throughout the ceremony. A chewable or liquid antacid is a great way to calm any nervous stomachs. Crackers and ginger ale are good though too. For headaches, you can keep some acetaminophen on hand. This is usually gentler on the stomach than ibuprofen, and can be taken without food.

If the bride or bridesmaids should feel dizzy, then have them immediately sit down. Dizziness can be caused by a lot of things–low blood sugar, nerves, and more serious conditions. If the bride or groom should faint, smelling salts can help to revive them.

Bandaids are good too for sore feet in too tight of shoes. Beauty fixes

For the women, you may want to have a few beauty tools to keep everyone looking their best. Spare lip gloss and balm are good to keep the lips looking good. A translucent face powder will keep the nose and forehead from shining. Always keep a small bottle of clear nail polish as well. This is good for fixing rhinestones that have fallen off dresses to sealing tears in stockings.

A small brush and mirror can also help, while hair spray and extra deodorant are also nice to have on hand. Bobby pins can help most hair crises, but a curling iron can be an asset too.

Miscellaneous

It’s amazing what you may need and never think of. For example, did you think to bring extra straight pins for the corsages or in case the bouquets fell apart? A small sewing kit is good to in order to fix up any small emergencies.

Stain remover and chalk are also good to have on hand. If there should be any stains that need removing, the stain remover is there. If there’s something on the bride’s dress, then you can lightly cover it with the chalk–it works great and won’t hurt the dress.

Christmas Shopping with Redsave.com

For a website with well over 250 products on sale RedSave.com is remarkably quick and easy to navigate. Low Budget Wedding Planning

Weddings have become costly nowadays. It takes $15K to $20K to have a wedding. Hence it is essential for a good wedding planning. If you can plan properly you could save a lot and you may wonder that you have done you wedding at only 25% of the cost that it takes. There are wedding planners available who would guide you to cut down the unnecessary expenses incurred on a wedding.

If you plan carefully you can even cut down the costs drastically. A little careful wedding planning will keep you amazed at the amount that you have saved. Have a budget set for your wedding and list down the items that you need to be present at your wedding.

Then revise the list to have the most important thing in it and try to remove the items that are not necessary. Only if you put it down on paper you would find what and all to cut down from the list. If you have a PC there are websites that give out free wedding planners that you can use. Or you can download them and take a printout of those planners and use it for your wedding planning.

There are many items that you can reduce the cost. Instead of a big wedding cake you can order a small one and have a sheet cake to be cut and served. The cake can serve as the dessert instead of other sweets being ordered.

Even while shopping for your dresses you can look for discounts or even ask your good old grandma to make your gown for you! They would be pleased to do it for your wedding. You have to keep your dear ones engaged by asking them to contribute some service for your wedding. In this type of wedding planning you could cut down a lot of unnecessary expenses.

You would have come across any person who is much interested in photography from your relatives. You can ask their service for the photography sessions for your wedding instead of hiring a professional photographer. They would be happy to do it if you can give them such responsibilities.

One of your uncles might be interested in recording videos. Having a reception on Friday night instead of Saturday would cut down a lot of money spent. For the dinner you should choose a buffet system instead of a sit-down dinner. A buffet would actually cut down cost of the dinner.

Instead of a limousine you might choose a Cadillac or other luxury vehicle and cut down quite a sum. You can also cut down cost on the invitations if you choose invitations that require minimum stamping.

Instead of having a separate invitation for the reception you can print down the reception information on the wedding invitation itself. This would cut down a considerable cost on invitations. A little wedding planning and a little effort would help you to save a lot of money unnecessarily spent on your wedding. You can plan your wedding on any budget! Happy wedding!

Debt Consolidation and a Recession

Is consolidating debt the ideal financial solution for me? As we are in a recession (according to the Ernst & Young ITEM Club Autumn forecast), there’s a real need for individuals with problems with debt to understand the differences between consolidation loans and the various other debt solutions available - and know which one could be ideal for them during a time like this.

For a start, it rely’s upon what the future holds. In a recession, it’s more than likely to be not very good news - when consumer spending becomes low and companies lose money, many firms will resort to redundancies in order to save the firm. For any individual who is pretty sure their company might be making redundancies, a consolidation loan might not be the best idea.

Why is that? One of debt consolidation’s most attractive advantages is the opportunity to reduce the monthly amount an individual pays in debt repayments. A debt consolidation loan has a bigger impact when the persons financial situation is fairly stable: when they are aware how much they are earning and how much they are spending each month, they can work out the ideal way of paying back their debt.

So an individual facing the prospect of unemployment could be better off looking into a debt management plan, as opposed to debt consolidation. Debt management makes it possible to have a flexible approach to debt: borrowers could ask debt management experts to talk to their creditors on their behalf, asking them to think about allowing lower monthly payments, remove charges and/or freeze interest.

IVAs require a lot of commitment and can require homeowners to release some of the equity in their property. Borrowers must be able to commit to making fixed monthly payments for (most of the time) six years, based on the most they can afford when they’ve taken their essential expenses into account. Even so, an Individual Voluntary Arrangement is able to make an important difference - for individuals whose debts have steadily got out of control, as well as people faced with a sudden drop in income. Of course, IVAs do need a level of financial stability: if the individual doesn’t feel they could commit to five years of regular payments, an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) may not be the perfect debt solution for them.

How to Choose a Pearl Necklace for Your Wedding Day

The elegant beauty of a strand of pearls has fascinated brides for centuries. People believe that wearing pearls on their wedding day will bring bliss to their marriage.

Pearls are classic wedding jewelry. How do you choose that perfect pearl necklace?

Here are some tips:

There are four types of pearls:Akoya pearls, Tahitian pearls, SouthSea pearls, and freshwater pearls. Akoya, Tahitian and South Sea pearls grow in oceans. They are more valuable than freshwater pearls for their rarity and high luster.

Akoya pearls are the most popular. These pearls are valued for their rich color, mirror-like finish, and appealing roundness.

As with any other gemstones, the value of pearls is determined by their quality.

A pearl’s quality can be A, AA, AA+, AAA, AAA+. The last two, AAA and AAA+ pearls, have the best quality and they are most valuable. For pearls of the same size, an ‘A’ quality pearl necklace costs only a small fraction of AAA quality pearl necklace.

The quality and value of pearls are based upon six criteria: luster, nacre, surface, color, shape, size and matching. The educated buyer uses his or her preferences to decide which criteria are most important.

Nacre: Most buyers of pearl jewelry pay most attention to the pearls’ nacre thickness. Nacre is the coating that a pearl oyster produces to cover the pearl’s nucleus; it is the key to how long pearls last. You should look for pearls with nacre thickness over 0.4mm.

Luster and Surface: Luster is the amount of light reflected from the pearl’s surface. A strand of pearls with high luster, mirror finish and clean surfaces is most desirable and valuable.

Color: It is a personal choice. Consider buying a pearl necklace whose color will complement your clothing and your skin tone.

Size: The price of pearls that are larger than 7mm varies greatly. People usually buy the largest pearls they can afford.

Shape: Round pearls are most desirable and valuable.

Matching: For a pearl necklace or bracelet, matching refers to the ways in which all of the pearls are similar. It is difficult to find enough identical pearls to make a well-matched pearl necklace; therefore such a necklace commands a top price.

After you have decided the type, color, size and quality of pearls that you want, think about your budget. Take your time to shop around and find that perfect pearl necklace for your wedding day!

How To Find The Best Caterer For Your Wedding

The caterer has a very important role in your wedding. Therefore, you should take extra care in hiring the right caterer for you wedding day. Just like hiring any other vendor, you have to make your selection based on facts not feelings. The caterer may be an individual or a business. Even if the caterer is an individual, she still has to operate as a business. The caterer cannot legally cook at home and serve the food at your event. It is illegal for a caterer to use an unlicensed kitchen to prepare food.

The caterer you hire should be experienced not only in catering events, but catering weddings. During your interview process, you should ask about the kind of events they have catered. Ask about the size of the events, how many guests they catered for. Ask if they had to deal with any emergencies or unexpected events. To learn about how they deal with emergencies may help you understand their level of professionalism.

You should never hire the first caterer you meet. It may be tempting to hire the first caterer, especially, if you hit it off really well. It is in you benefit to meet with several caterers before you make your final decision.

You must check references before you make your decision. If a caterer does not have any references, walk. You don’t want anything to do with a caterer that offers no references. References are important, but they do not provide an absolute protection. You may be able to visit the caterer’s kitchen, so you can see their operation in action. A visit can help you examine their organization and cleanliness.

Caterers get booked well in advance, so hire one early. You should have a caterer lined up no less than 6 months prior to your reception. If you can find one a year before your event is even better. The more time you leave yourself to hire a caterer the more chance you give yourself to hire the right caterer.

Once you have made a decision, it is time to put it all in writing. You should insist on a written contract. The contract should include the details, of the menu, the date of the event, what is and is not included.

Roaring Twenties Wedding Theme

Whether it’s the Great Gatsby or the look of gangsters, a roaring twenties wedding theme can add a fun and unusual spin to any wedding. If you are interested in being united in the look of the twenties, here are some different ideas to get you started.

The 1920’s had a style all its own and with a twenties wedding theme, planning will be enjoyable and memorable. Start by transforming your wedding party into an era of “speakeasy” with costumes resembling Eliot Ness, Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Bugsy Malone, and John Dillinger. You and your future husband can also think about dressing yourselves up as Bonnie and Clyde.

The bride’s dress should fit into the twenties wedding theme. Have a seamstress design one with an intermission hemline, making it shorter in front and long in the back. Dropped waistline and pleated skirts were a popular look in the twenties and would make a beautiful wedding dress. For headdress, try a Juliet cap, coronet or a simple band of silk flowers worn lower on the forehead. Don’t forget stockings (pantyhose) that have noticeable seams. These were a big look for women of the twenties.

The bridesmaids of the roaring twenties wedding party can dress in flapper dresses with long, dangling bead necklaces, feather boas and seamed stockings. Remember the bright red lipstick. No twenties rendition would be complete without it!

Zoot suits, English driving caps, suspenders and wing tip shoes were the craze for grooms and groomsmen in the roaring twenties. Most tuxedo shops will either carry great selections from this era or know of another shop you can visit to find this great attire.

For a roaring twenties wedding theme, think glittering lights, rough men, and romance. Although known for its crime age, the twenties also became known as the Jazz Age, with the likes of flappers and the Charleston. Music was upbeat and enjoyable, skirts were short and the economy had everyone in high spirits. This is the feel you want to incorporate into your wedding theme.

Think about your invitations and what you want them to say. These will initially set the mood of your guests before they even attend your big day. Include passwords on the invitation and have two friends stand at the door of the reception and ask guests to recite the password if they want to enter. Be original. Use different passwords on different invitations, depending on the guest. If it is an old school friend, use your nickname from high school as the password. If your grandma had a name she called you, use this as her password. Also on the invitation, let your guests know that although they are not required to wear attire fit for the theme, it is welcomed and would be fun.

Name your reception tables when seating your guests at your roaring twenties reception. Have an ‘Al Capone’ table, a ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ table, which can be used for the wedding party, and a ‘Lucky Luciano’ table. Attach guest names to long cigarette holders that were used in that era.

Another great idea for your roaring twenties theme is to include on the invitations that there will be contests held during the reception. Have the disk jockey play jazz music, swing music and organize these contests. You can include a contest for best dance and best costume. You can also set up a booth for your guests to have their photos taken as a souvenir to take home.

With a roaring twenties wedding theme, your wedding is sure to not be forgotten by your guests and will make long lasting memories for you and your ‘Clyde’.

Dos And Don’ts Of Shopping For Your Wedding Dress

DO Shop early! Avoid the “Two Weeks ’til Wedding Day Attack.” Get your wedding dress early.

DO Research before your buy. The quickest and easiest way to research is by searching online. There are many Web sites dedicated do wedding dresses where you can get a ton of useful information about styles, designs, trends, etc.

DO Go to a wedding dress specialist. You should visit several wedding boutiques, and learn from the pros. Of course, keep in mind they are selling, so you should take everything with a grain of salt.

DO Expect minor alterations. Even the most expensive designer wedding gowns might need a few adjustments. If you buy your gown well in advance, you may need to alter the dress again a couple of weeks prior to the wedding.

DO Keep an open mind while you shop for your wedding dress. Try lots of things on. Often the dress you thought you’d never like is the one that makes you look and feel the best.

DO Bring shoes with the same height as your wedding shoes are going to be on your special day.

DO Slip a bustier, a control-top panty hose into your purse.

DO Have Fun!

DON’T panic if you have to special order! Wedding dress salons can special order your dress faster than you can say “panic.”

DON’T put up with unfriendly sales people. This is your wedding day, your big purchase. The sales person who sells your wedding dress to you should share in your enthusiasm and make it exciting for you.

DON’T shop after you’ve bought. Instead enjoy the rest of your wedding planning journey.

DON’T give up! Finding that perfect wedding dress is going to take some work.

DON’T take too many people with you on your hunt for your wedding dress. You shouldn’t take more than five people with you on your shopping trip.

The best solution for an annoying tennisarm is there now

The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. The inflammation of the unilateral tennisarm, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle. Therefore, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the first 7 years.

A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 110 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the past 6 weeks.

Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 954 to 218. Indeed, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with tennisarm injury. The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. The diameter of the contact area was 728 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 646 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain. Further, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. Next 2 months, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. Painful tennisarm, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. Nevertheless, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution. However, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 5 days. Therefore, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 8 hours.

For 3 minutes gain settings were standardized and kept constant. Nevertheless, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 2 days in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on three patients with unilateral painful tennisarm. All PPT measurements were conducted 10 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 6 hours. Results are presented as mean. Further, there were no significant differences after 4 weeks.
